Sofia Lekas

Graduate Assistant

Sofia Lekas enters her first year as a graduate assistant for the Mercer women’s soccer team.
 
Before joining the Mercer coaching staff, Lekas was a four-year varsity soccer player at Georgia College. For the Bobcats, Lekas appeared in 72 career games and scored 17 career goals, which ranks fourth all-time in Georgia College history. She scored a career-high 11 goals during her senior season, which is the third-most in single-season history.
 
Besides succeeding on the pitch, Lekas was a three-time Peach Belt Conference All-Academic Selection and a PBC Bronze Scholar.
 
Over the summers, Lekas served as a summer soccer camp counselor and coach for camps held at Georgia College and Mercer University. While working the camps, she demonstrated and encouraged different activities to camp participants, taught tactics in an assortment of ways, and provided feedback to improve playing techniques and performances.
 
She graduated from Georgia College & State University in August of 2019 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health.
