Mercer women's soccer head coach Tony Economopoulos announced the hiring of Matt Seib as an assistant coach for his program on March 28, 2019.
Prior to Mercer, Seib was most recently at Georgia College, where he spent the past three seasons as an assistant coach for the Bobcats. Seib helped lead Georgia College to back-to-back 11-win seasons as well as a 2018 Peach Belt Conference Tournament runner-up finish.
"We are excited to be adding Matt Seib to our staff," Economopoulos said at the time of Seib's hiring. "Matt has a passion to teach the game, a very strong soccer IQ and has a relentless work ethic. These qualities, along with his recruiting connections in Georgia and the Southeast, make him a great addition to our program, athletics department and institution."
Seib's duties with the Bobcats included planning training sessions, in-game and post-game analysis, game day and travel operations, recruitment and more.
Prior his time as a Bobcat, Seib was a graduate assistant coach at Valdosta State for one season. He also coached the Clarke Central High School men's soccer program as the head junior varsity and varsity assistant as well as the assistant head coach for Tallulah Falls School Varsity and Middle School.
Seib earned his undergraduate degree in applied environmental science from Berry College in 2014 and his masters of business administration from Valdosta State in 2018.
